Key Features
The S. Parker 1602 door chime and viewer combines a push-button doorbell with a 180° peephole in one unit, with no wiring, batteries or electricity. It's the standard apartment entry-door chime found in buildings across New York City, and a quick upgrade for any unit door that needs a doorbell where running power isn't practical.
Visitors press the button on the outside plate, which rings a clear two-note mechanical chime inside the apartment. The wide-angle viewer lets residents see who's at the door before opening it, and built-in frames hold the apartment number and the resident's name. It fits metal and wood doors 1-3/8" or 1-3/4" thick, and installs in two drilled holes with the included paper template.

Installation
Tape the template to the door, then drill a 1-3/4" hole for the viewer and chime body and a 1/2" hole centered 2" below it. Mount the outside plate, then fasten the chime mechanism and cover on the inside. On hollow metal doors, many installers use a hole saw rated for steel.
