Description
The UFD 7204 Series is a commercial knob lockset for fire-rated doors, built from 304 stainless steel with a satin nickel finish and UL listed for 3-hour fire door assemblies. It delivers code-compliant fire door hardware at a price point that works for apartment buildings, contractors outfitting multiple units, property managers, and light commercial projects where a traditional round knob is preferred over a lever.
The 75mm (2-15/16") rose fits standard cylindrical door preps. Each knob lockset includes a 70mm (2-3/4") backset latch, 1-1/8" faceplate, and a 4-7/8" ASA strike plate. Keyed functions include two SC1 (Schlage C) keys.

- Keyed Entry (7204-SC-ET) – Key outside, push button inside. Apartment and office entry doors.
- Privacy (7204-SC-PV) – Push-button lock with emergency release. Bathrooms and bedrooms.
- Passage (7204-SC-PS) – Latch only, never locks. Hallways, closets, laundry rooms.
- Classroom (7204-SC-CL) – Outside knob locked/unlocked by key, inside always free.
- Storeroom (7204-SC-SR) – Outside knob always locked, key retracts latch; inside always free.

Knob vs. Lever
Knob locksets are common on existing residential and multifamily doors and are often the right match for replacement work. Note that ADA-compliant openings in public and commercial buildings generally require lever handles; for those doors see the 7201 Series fire-rated lever lockset, which shares the same stainless steel construction and 3-hour UL rating.
