34" x 80" Welded Steel Door Frame – 14 Gauge Hollow Metal Welded Frame

A commercial-grade 34" x 80" welded steel door frame for 1-3/4" thick doors. Arrives fully assembled with factory-welded corners, in left hand or right hand and three jamb depths. Set into the opening during construction for a rigid, permanent installation.

A welded frame ships assembled and is set before the wall is closed in — the more rigid choice for new construction and heavy-use openings. A knock-down frame ships flat and slips over finished drywall, which makes it easier for renovations. We stock both in this size — call if you are not sure which suits your opening.

Measure your finished wall thickness (studs + drywall on both sides) and pick the matching jamb depth:

• 3-3/4" – 2-1/2" metal studs with one layer of 5/8" drywall each side
• 4-7/8" – 3-5/8" metal studs with one layer of 5/8" drywall each side
• 6-1/8" – 3-5/8" metal studs with two layers of 5/8" drywall each side

Stand on the outside of the opening (the side the door swings away from). If the hinges are on your left, order Left Hand; if they're on your right, order Right Hand. Can I set a welded frame into a finished wall?
Welded frames are meant to go in before the wall is closed up. For a retrofit into finished drywall, a knock-down frame is usually the easier choice – call us and we'll confirm which one fits your opening.

Yes. The frame arrives as one welded unit, ready to set and anchor.
