Ordering, custom sizes, shipping, pickup, returns and product specs — everything contractors and building owners ask us most. Can’t find your answer? Call us and talk to a real person.
Ordering & Pricing
Can I order doors, frames and hardware online?
Yes. Stock doors, frames and hardware can be ordered right here on ufdoors.com. We accept major credit cards, ACH and business checks, and approved contractors can apply for Net 30 credit terms.
Do you make custom sizes?
Yes. Custom sizes are built to order in our New York factory. Send us your sizes or plans and we’ll confirm pricing and lead time with your quote. Please note custom and made-to-order products are final sale.
How do I get a quote?
Email your door sizes, blueprints or project plans to sales@ufiredoor.com or call (718) 455-8442. A member of our team will respond within 1 business day.
Do you offer contractor or distributor pricing?
Yes. Contractors and resellers can apply to become an Authorized UFD Distributor for exclusive pricing and priority access. Email us to apply.
Do you offer installation?
Yes. In addition to supplying doors, frames and hardware, our own crews can install them. Contact us to schedule an installation estimate.
Shipping & Pickup
How fast do stock orders ship?
Stock items are typically processed and ready to ship within 2–3 business days after payment. Rush production or shipping may be available for an additional charge. Custom order lead times are given at quote or order confirmation.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. You can pick up at our Brooklyn facility, 1171 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11206, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Please call ahead and bring your order confirmation or invoice — we’ll load your vehicle for you.
How does delivery work?
Local deliveries in NYC and Long Island are often handled by our own trucks. Larger orders ship by LTL or full-truckload freight, and smaller items like hardware may ship by UPS, FedEx or similar. Standard service is delivery to the curb or loading dock — inside delivery, liftgate or jobsite placement must be arranged and quoted in advance.
Shipping is calculated by weight, size and destination and shown at checkout or on your invoice.
What areas do you serve?
We serve New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut, and we ship within the United States. For international orders, email sales@ufiredoor.com.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Inspect every delivery before signing. Note any damage or shortage on the bill of lading, take photos and email them to sales@ufiredoor.com within 48 hours. Concealed damage must be reported within 5 business days. We’ll help with the freight claim and replacement.
Returns
What is your return policy?
Eligible stock items can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unused, uninstalled and in their original packaging, with a Return Authorization (RA) from our team. Approved returns carry a 25% restocking fee, and return shipping is paid by the customer unless the error was ours.
Custom, installed or modified items are not returnable. Refunds are issued 10–15 business days after the return passes inspection. Read the full return policy.
Products & Codes
Are your doors and frames fire rated?
Our products are UL fire-rated and code-compliant. UFD is UL Listed and NYC MEA Approved. Check each product listing for its specific rating, or ask us to confirm the rating your opening requires.
What’s the difference between a door slab and a door unit?
A door slab is the door only — the frame and hardware are sold separately. A door unit is a complete package; see each listing for exactly what’s included.
Mortise prep or cylindrical prep — which do I need?
Match the door prep to the lock you plan to install: choose a mortise-prep slab for a mortise lock, or a cylindrical-prep slab for a cylindrical lockset. Not sure? Send us the lock model and we’ll confirm.
Knock-down or welded frame — what’s the difference?
A knock-down frame ships in pieces and is assembled in the opening, which makes it common for existing walls. A welded frame arrives as one solid piece and is typically set before or while the wall is built. We can help you pick the right one for your job.
