How to order

1. Size — nominal door size (width x height).
2. Frame & Throat Depth — pick the frame type and the throat depth that matches your wall.
3. Lock & Swing — knob or lever (both storeroom function), left or right hand.

Frame types & available throat depths

• Welded frame (masonry & block walls, set as the wall is built): 4 7/8" throat.
• Knock-Down frame (installs into a finished drywall opening): 3 3/4", 4 7/8" or 6 1/8" throat.

Throat depth = overall wall thickness the frame wraps. Typical: 3 3/4" for 2-1/2" studs with 5/8" drywall each side, 4 7/8" for 3-5/8" studs with 5/8" drywall each side, 6 1/8" for thicker or double-layer walls. Need a different depth? Call (718) 455-8442.

Lock options — storeroom function

• Knob Lock — Knob Lockset 7204, UL fire-rated, satin nickel stainless steel.
• Lever Lock — Lever Lockset 7201, UL fire-rated, satin chrome stainless steel (ADA-friendly).

Storeroom function: the outside is always locked and opens only with a key; the inside always allows free exit. It's the standard choice for electrical rooms because the door can never be left unlocked. Need a different function (entrance, classroom, passage or privacy)? Add a note to your order or call us.

Sizing & swing

Order by nominal door size. A 36" x 80" unit has an actual door of about 35-3/4" x 79-1/4" and an overall frame of about 40" x 82". To choose the swing, stand on the outside (corridor side): hinges on the right = Right Hand, hinges on the left = Left Hand. Need a reverse swing? Call us. Check your drawings or local code for required swing direction.
